Ross Freedman wrote his first song, “The Martian Street,” in third grade, and it was a huge hit. Piano lessons—and an indifferent attitude toward practice—followed.
Armed with influences from across the pop spectrum, Freedman brings them together in compactly crafted, power pop-inflected songs. His sound owes a debt to Joe Jackson, Neil Finn, Aimee Mann and Ben Folds.
